HEART Platform Clinical Research Fellowship

The Heart Failure Efficacy and Research Trial (HEART) Platform is a multicenter, randomized platform study designed to improve outcomes for patients with heart failure. This innovative trial infrastructure enables the simultaneous and sequential evaluation of multiple interventions across the spectrum of heart failure, from acute decompensation to chronic ambulatory management. By establishing a perpetual clinical trial infrastructure, HEART aims to transform how therapeutic interventions are developed and evaluated in heart failure, ultimately accelerating the delivery of effective treatments to patients. The HEART Platform is led by Principal Investigator Dr. Justin Ezekowitz.

The HEART Platform Clinical Research Fellowship provides essential financial support to University of Alberta graduate trainees dedicated to advancing cardiovascular clinical research. Administered by the Canadian VIGOUR Centre (CVC) within the HEART Platform, the program is specifically tailored for scholars focused on the design, implementation, and evaluation of clinical trials. Under the guidance of one or more CVC faculty mentors, fellows engage in high-impact research initiatives as part of the HEART platform aimed at directly enhancing the standards of cardiovascular clinical care.
