Dr. Arnav Agarwal Joins the CVC as an Associate Faculty Member

Dr. Arnav Agarwal is an academic general internal medicine physician and Assistant Professor at the University of Alberta and University of Alberta Hospital. He completed his medical training and internal medicine residency at the University of Toronto, followed by a clinical fellowship in general internal medicine at McMaster University. He is currently completing a PhD in the Health Research Methodology program at McMaster University, where his work focuses on the development of trustworthy evidence-based practice guidelines with a specific focus on living evidence and living guidelines.

His research interests include systematic reviews and meta-analyses, trustworthy practice guideline development, and methods-related research focused on evidence synthesis and the use of the GRADE (Grading of Recommendations Assessment, Development and Evaluation) approach. Additionally, he is interested in the evaluation of population health outcomes using administrative data and the conduct of pragmatic randomized trials in general internal medicine.
