Dr. Fernando Zampieri is an Associate Professor in the Department of Critical Care Medicine at the University of Alberta. He completed his medical degree and subsequently undertook his internal medicine and critical care residencies at the University of São Paulo, Brazil, followed by a PhD with a focus on inflammatory processes at the same institution.
Dr. Zampieri’s research interests include randomized controlled trials in critical illness, Bayesian methods for clinical trials and epidemiological research, the epidemiology of critical illness, and ICU organizational features and outcomes. To date, he has published more than 200 papers and has an H-index of 54.
Currently, he is working closely on the HEART Platform trial and is the Principal Investigator of KETO-AHF, a domain evaluating the effects of ketone esters in patients with acute heart failure within the HEART Platform’s master protocol framework.
